Former Prime Minister of India and a legendary Congress leader Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday. He was admitted in AIIMS. According to the doctors, reason for his hospitalization was not immediately known.
He was the only Sikh Prime Minister of India. He entered into politics in the year 1991. He was famous for his Liberalization, privatization, and globalization (LPG) policy. He introduced this policy when India was about to file bankruptcy. That time, he was the finance minister of India under the PV Narasimha Rao government in June that year.
His last words in Parliament were a strong criticism against demonetization, describing it as a “sanctioned and lawful raid.”
